A new direction for the podcast

Hi friends,

This week things haven't been flowing. I've not felt very productive, and most things that could go wrong have.

I've resorted back to my trusty todo list, each day I write 5 things that need to get done. If something doesn't get done for 3 days in a row then it's not that important and it gets removed from the list.

The main thing on my mind this week is, Podcasting. I've really enjoyed creating a podcast over the last 2 months, but I'm not sure weekly 6 minute episodes are currently sustainable. Coming up with a new idea each week is tricky, and I think listening to just me talk can be a little boring!

I'm toying with the idea of a new video podcast where I chat with people from the world of software, business & entrepreneurship about their stories, what makes them successful & day-to-day lives.

Is this something you'd be interested in?

Talking of the podcast; In this week's 6 Minute Software Development episode, I answer a listener question of "How can you measure the health of your development team?"

Have a great week.

Josh

My Favourite Things

Audiobook: It Doesn’t Have to Be Crazy at Work

This week I've been listening to It Doesn't Have to be Crazy at Work by Jason Fried & David Hanson.

The book challenges every known trait of the office environment, and has really made me question why certain norms are the way they are.

I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who runs a business.

Podcast: Not overthinking

Two brothers, Ali & Taimur Abdaal sit down and discuss what they've done that week. Each run their own businesses and lead busy lives.
The conversation is always stimulating & I really enjoy the relaxed nature of this podcast.
